The mug has been handmade in the Fudogama ceramics factory, which uses the famous oribe pottery glaze in its ceramics. The ceramics is incredibly subtle, almost petite.
Oribe pottery is the most recognizable type of Japanese pottery due to its bluish-green glaze, which results from oxidation of copper contained in the glaze mixture. Oribe is one of the Mino styles originated in the sixteenth century and its name comes from the tea ceremony master Furuta Oribe.
