Our incense sticks are formed entirely from mixtures of aromatic plant components. Unlike many others, our incense don`t have a bamboo stick inside, and therefore it burns completely without producing as much smoke as other incense. They produce a lot of fragrance which can be sensed long after burning.
Since 1575 the company Nippon Kodo has passed the tradition connected with production and burning of incense to the next generations. In the 60s, the first incense arrived overseas. The Mainichiko incense, which means "incense for everyday use”, was used as a basis for the Morning Star collection.
Sold around the world for 50 years, it has become a contemporary classics of Japanese incense.
